This Unit of competency (UOC) will continue until October 2024: It is presumed the new LVR unit (UETDRMP007) will be replacing the current LVR (UETDRRF004) late 2024.

If, for some reason you require the new UOC UETDRMP007, EMCARE is able to provide this unit at no added cost. Please contact us (firstaid@emcare.com.au) and we can book you onto one of our weekly courses at the same time as running the UETDRRF004. You will need to provide evidence of either UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker; OR UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace. This is a pre-requisite of the new LVR UETDRMP007.
If you do not hold either of these units (UETDREL006 / UEECD0007), EMCARE is able to offer either of these courses at an additional cost at the same time as attending your LVR course.

The CPR and LVR course is essential if you are conducting live work or working with live switchboards. The course covers the performance of rescue procedures from a live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace.
It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

Completing the course will provide an individual with the skills and knowledge to carry out and complete the LV panel rescue procedures and to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a casualty in a range of situations. It consists of real-life practical skills and knowledge to allow the participant to be assessed as competent in providing CPR in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines as well as rescue procedures from an LV apparatus.

Low voltage rescue comprises responsive operations that involve the saving of life, or prevention of injury during an incident or dangerous situation.

The following units will be included in your certificate:

HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

UETDRRF004 - Perform rescue from a live LV panel

Nationally accredited certificates issued under the auspices of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO90909. These certificates are usually issued on the same day, however may also be issued the following day, or on a Monday if doing the training on a Friday afternoon.

Course Durations:

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 5 Hours

Entry requirements:
​
Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including CPR (Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions).
Physical fitness – Participants must have the physical capacity to complete a practical demonstration of a simulated LV panel rescue.
Pre-course study: Students may be required to undertake online pre-course work prior to attending the face to face session depending on the course delivery mode.
Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)

Inspection and placement of rescue equipment and performing a rescue

Theory assessment - A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.
